Welcome to King Con Brooklyn(II)

Good things never go away, they just keep coming back for more. KingCon II is on for November 4-5-6-7, 2010. Mark your google calendar. Post it on the fridge. Sign up the babysitter. Plan your rest stop during the marathon.

Bear with us as we are in the middle of a quick upgrade.

Now that  the dates are announced...

Why 4 days?

We have changed the format a bit.  In short...  we needed room for more exhibitors.  To do so we have taken over two floors instead of one.

By doing so we lost some panel room.  To make up for that we will have a panels in the upstairs room with the most of the food and portions of the artist's alleys that holds about 100 people.  Panels larger than that will be spread out to Thursday and Friday as well as up and down the glorious R subway line.  How far up and down the line will be determined by the caliber and expected number and sizes of the panels.  The exact schedule will develop over time.

These changes will allow for the highest concentration of top-notch animators, illustrators and cartoonists that the Boro of Brooklyn, and appropriately the County of Kings has ever seen.  Can't argue with that.

Why the NYC Marathon Weekend?

Well, it brings in hundreds of thousands of tourists and/or runners  straight into Brooklyn.  It also brings thousands of locals down to 4th Avenue.  Both of these are good sources of eager attendees.

We got hungry last year.  We love the Lyceum cafe, but there wasn't enough food.

Hmmm...  the more we do these conventions and markets (King Con, Craft Market, Mutt Show) the more this problem presents itself.  If you are going to external panels we will point you in the direction of some good grub.   While you are at the Lyceum we will get some tasty food vendors to keep your stomach content while you browse and mingle with the artists.
